About SAMH

Founded by Chrys Harris and Jena Dickey of Young Voices of Colorado, the Sing A Mile High Children's Choral Festival emerged from their desire to host a music festival for accomplished children's choirs.

The goal, to offer these treble choirs the opportunity to gather for 5 days of collaboration and camaraderie, to learn from outstanding composers and clinicians, and to sing in the amazing June Swaner Gates Auditorium in the Robert and Judi Newman Center for the Performing Arts at the University of Denver.

In July 2006, Chrys and Jena saw their vision come to life during the first Sing A Mile High Festival. With conductors Dr. Rollo A. Dilworth and Dr. Catherine Sailer, the festival hosted 9 choirs from 8 states totaling over 300 singers! Sing A Mile High has hosted several other amazing guest conductors including, Dr. David Brunner, Bob Chilcott, Paul Caldwell, and Sean Ivory.

2012 marks the 7th annual festival, and will again be conducted by Dr. David Brunner. Since his first concert with Sing A Mile High, there have been over 1,800 children from more than 60 choirs premiering 7 original works. 2012 is also a very special year because Sing A Mile High is celebrating it's second year of being international!

What will 2012 hold? Join us to find out!
